What is the Student Training in Entrepreneurship Programme?

Since 2017, CoCoon Foundation has reached over 44,500 (and growing!) Hong Kong secondary school students through Entrepreneurship Education to equip them with the necessary 21st century life skills to thrive in an unpredictable world. This year, we are proud to announce we can continue our mission through the generous support of the the Lee Kum Kee Family Foundation.

Our year-long program consists of 5 core components that: 
  • Enables 21st Century life skills of collaboration, creativity & problem solving
  • Connects students to other students, startup communities & mentors 
  • Equips students to guide their own learning, spot opportunities & come up with innovative solutions  ​

Student training in entrepreneurship programme

Funded by the Lee Kum Kee Family Foundation, the Student Training in Entrepreneurship Programme allows students and teachers to understand the importance of entrepreneurship, equips them with indispensable 21st-century life skills, and moves towards a sustainable future. To achieve this goal, we take students on an experiential learning journey through three activities that increase in complexity and commitment, helping them build resilience and improve their mental health.

Teacher CapAcity & Curriculum Building

Our partnership with Lee Kum Kee Family Foundation this year also means that our team is able to expand our focus on reaching more teachers and working directly with secondary school curriculums to teach Entrepreneurship Education. 

The Teacher Capacity & Curriculum Building component of STEP consists of: 
  • Educators for the Future Lab: ​We offer teachers a series of professional development workshops on Design Thinking, in order to help teachers to approach problems they face within their own classrooms. These workshops can be for teachers from a network of different schools or tailored exclusively for the teachers of your school.
  • Design Doing - Curriculum Innovation: From 2021, we introduced Design Doing: Curriculum Building into our Teacher Capacity Building program. In Design Doing, we collaborate with teachers to co-create curriculum and accompany teachers to build up their capacity to implement entrepreneurship in their classrooms.

Family Dream-Lab: Co-Creating the Future​

The seeds of the Entrepreneurial Spirit are planted in schools by teachers and us. However, whether these seeds can take root, break through the soil, and flourish depends on the rich soil of the family. Through this programme, we walk alongside parents to integrate Entrepreneurial Spirit into everyday life. We firmly believe that parents’ forward-looking vision and support are the core driving force for children to explore the future. Only through cross-generational collaboration between parents and children can we unlock limitless possibilities.

CoCoon Youngtrepreneur​


We believe that the student journey in entrepreneurship education does not end after a year of STEP. CoCoon Youngtrepreneur (CCY) is a student community and through facilitation and leadership training and workshops, we hope to equip passionate students to find their leadership style so that they may approach their futures with more confidence for facing their future.

Starting in 2026, we introduced the CoCoon Youngtrepreneur Committee, enabling CCY alumni to lead the community and initiate various activities for CCY members. These activities not only strengthen the connections among members but also provide CCY members with more opportunities to develop their entrepreneurial spirit and support their mental well-being.

FAQ

​Question: Do schools need to pay to join this programme? 
Answer: No, STEP is funded by the Lee Kum Kee Family Foundation. All activities and events run by STEP are free of charge!

Question: Can students join the programme individually? 
Answer: Unfortunately, our STEP One and STEP Two programmes are open only to students from our network schools. STEP Three – Enterprise Challenge is open to all students, but spaces are limited! Please WhatsApp +852 5598 7608 for more information.
